Farewell, dear friend

It's time.

It's time to say goodbye to Sugar and Gravy.

I started this blog in August 2008, nearly 7 years ago. I started it so I could move on from my LiveJournal, which was very diary-like and emotional in nature. I wanted my Blogger to be light, full of pop culture, silliness, and miscellany. It was! My list of tags ranges from Toronto to Steve Aoki to to Barack Obama to Fitness and hundreds of topics in between. When I had a moment on a Sunday morning to drink coffee and blog about whatever, I would, and it was great.

Now it's a Sunday morning and I'm drinking coffee and I'm blogging, but it's for the last time on this particular blog. I haven't been posting as much as I used to. Occasionally I'll have the urge, but I'm never interested enough in taking action. I feel more often than not it becomes a chore, or something that makes me feel guilty. There are things in life that feel like chores or make you feel guilty, but blogging shouldn't be one of them. It was a fun hobby for me, and now it's not, so I shall say goodbye.

Plus, I've got another blog that I'm getting even more into, which is focused on my line of work, and that excites me a lot. So why not just put my energy there? I will.

But to you - S&G - thanks for all the good times, for being a channel for my musings, and for indulging me always.

Fin.
