Mmmmm Mena Suvari.

Brilliant fucking movie.

Alan Ball is truly a genius. Between "American Beauty" and "Six Feet Under", he's totally got me as a life-long fan.

In other news: still mourning the goddamn break-up and still feeling pretty assy, BUT - life goes on and at the very least I'll go on with it.

Some things I've learned over the past month...

(1) Break-ups suck!
(2) MGMT is the most uplifting band ever!
(3) If I want to be the Mac Daddy Pimp, I can be.

It's been a rough month, but it's now over and that's something to be happy about.
Things won't be easy for a while, if ever, but they will get easier.

In the meantime, I can have some fun!

Six Feet Under Love.

Claire: Hey what happened to that guy Keith?

David: It just didn't work out.

Claire: That's too bad.

David: Well life goes on.

Claire: That it does.

David: Well, there's work to be done.

I'm Not There

I'm in the middle of watching "I'm Not There" -- the movie all about the many sides of Bob Dylan (including the Oscar-nominated performance by Cate Blanchett!) -- and I just had to make a comment on how PERFECT the casting was for Allen Ginsberg. David Cross is the ideal Allen Ginsberg. Look at him!

Degrassi!

If you're Canadian, I hope you remember this gang!!!

The students at Degrassi High made a HUGE impact on Canadian media and on Canadian youth. Not only were there controversial issues talked about on the show (a character with AIDS, an abusive boyfriend, a character who got an abortion, a teen pregnancy... the list goes on), but the characters seemed utterly normal. Most of the actors in the show never had any acting experience before the show, which shows, but it seems to me to be an advantage. The show is raw, unpolished, and very real seeming. There are characters of many races, backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and sexual orientations. It's overall a beautifully done show, I think.

The Traveling Sugargravys

My roommate is a music geek like me and has introduced me to this.

And you KNOW you want more info about them.

Who's visiting?
