Ever since Aoki's less than stellar performance in late November, I've been taking a break from the electro. I haven't quit cold turkey, but I'm easing up on it for a bit.
What am I jamming to instead? Well, Kid Sister and Amanda Blank are still on heavy rotation, but on a TOTALLY different note, I'm rocking some Sugar&Gravy classic tunes, which are songs by...
JONI MITCHELL.
Isn't she perfect? Her songs are just perfect holiday music. I've been going through her entire discography for a couple of weeks now, and it's just divine.
Favourites = "Carey", "Both Hands", "River", "A Case of You", "The Magdalene Laundries"...
The list goes on.

Too Much Hype
I love Hype Machine! I really don't pay attention to the individual blogs that have their posts aggregated on the site, but now I think I'll pay attention to one of them: Salacious Sound.
I read an amazing post on it today that responds to another blog entry posted on November 18th. You've gotta check them both out. Very definitive 2009.

The Contemporary Chicken & Egg
I was just thinking about this post I wrote a little while ago. Here's what I'm wondering:
What comes first? The drugs, or the music?
The reason I ask is that in that entry, I made a comment on people being more into harder drugs as of late because of a movement toward harder (electro) music. However, obviously music and drugs have had a partnership for ages. Pink Floyd + Weed, The Beatles + Acid, and vice versa... The question is, do the drugs determine the music, or does the music determine the drugs?
Food for thought.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
I just took my garbage out, and what did I see?
S-N-O-W.
What does that mean?
OUT COME THE UGGS!
Yes, I wear Uggs. No, I don't care that you think they're the boiling point of materialism. I like the way they look, they're warm, and I love them.
